How Courses Work

1. Choosing a course

Click a course title to find out more about a course that interests you.

The Course Overview page includes a course description, start and end dates, a list of lessons, recommended course materials, and an introduction to the instructor.

2. Enrolling

You need to enroll in a course to access the lessons, Message Board, and other great features.

To enroll, click Enroll for the course session that interests you. If you're prompted to log in, complete the registration process if you are a new user, or log in if you are a returning user.

3. Course session and lessons

A course session is the time during which a course is offered.

BusinessWeek courses have two to eight lessons. Lessons for a specific course are listed at the bottom of the Course Overview page

The first lesson of each course becomes available on the start date. Additional lessons post twice a week until all lessons are available.

Once a lesson has posted, it remains accessible 24/7 until the course end date. The course ends about two weeks after the last lesson has posted.

4. Instructors

BusinessWeek instructors are subject matter experts who enjoy teaching and interacting with students. Among them are award-winning authors, technology leaders, and professionals.

During a course session, you can use the Message Board to get help from your instructor or converse with other students about the course topics.

5. Reminders

When you enroll in a course, you will receive an e-mail confirmation that your enrollment was successful. We will also send you e-mail on the days that new lessons post to remind you to return to the course to review the latest information.
